Wow .. as we have once again taken a good history of Palenque ...
After the (very very traenenreichen) say goodbye to my sister, we plunged again into the adventure, the Mexican Inland to Palenque, where there is more to admire fantastic ruins and waterfalls.
came after a fairly relaxed 13 hours of the morning we ride in Palenque, but immediately attracted by Kollektivo adjacent to a village, as a Mexican had told us that to get there in the cheapest accommodation, and in fact we were there with about 3 € the night our record for the cheapest hostel up.
The beds were then equivalent to 2 beds to 4 square meters surrounded .. by Bast and fly screens, this is in the later part of the story are very important
But first, to our day, we grabbed a couple of buses to us the Misol-Ha and Aqua Azul waterfalls to look at two of the bigger attractions in the vicinity of the ruins.
Misol-Ha was pretty cool, you could rumspazieren behind the waterfall.
Aqua Azul corresponded to its name, unfortunately, not really .. just as rainy season (also important for the history!) is the whole sludge was washed down from the mountains so it was instead more of a brown broth Aqua Azul hinabspuelte as in the Cascade mountain.
But the whole was a worthwhile trip .. It gnawed only a little bit at a fantastic amount of the cases would probably be in iridescent blue.
the last half hour we were there we spent it is because of an approaching storm under a roof .. it started pouring and thundering mad evil to Flash and.
evening we arrived quite exhausted by the night journey and the long day in the neighborhood of our hostel, and walked in the rain for the first time at a nearby restaurant something to eat. We thought at least. The creek, which we still undisturbed in the morning completely crosses over a small Breuck had was now risen by about 2 feet and now only difficult to manage without wet shoulders. With a slight queasy feeling in so we headed toward our cabin, only to find that the reception and the entire campground were flooded.
Since we do not really saw a different option, we started through the waist-high water, past the flooded cabins, wade .. Now with a more than queasy feeling in my stomach.
The conclusion of this story is lame but .. that again for some reason the lucky us Hold was, and our booth was one of the few little higher than that lying, which was spared by inches of the flood .. the water was really just up to our door.
have remained so at least our backpacks and things dry.
Then we sat still hoping packed with things in the cabin until the water started to go back again. Then flattened right we fell into bed.
The next day we enjoyed a big breakfast and first visited the ruins of Palenque, after we had found a favorable explored Guide We then also the 2000 year old ruins and the jungle around it (we were a little surprised when the guide us to the sunken ruins in the jungle led ... actually prepared on a tourist-day we were in flip-flops on the way ..)
After the ruins we then broke into a small favorable Kollektivo (who needs a cozy bus) to the 6 hour drive to San Cristobal, from where I just write. The city, which lies at 2,200 meters, is very nice, reminds me a bit of a green version of Cuzco. Very pleasant is that here more European temperatures prevail .. the first location in Mexico where we can not wring out after 5 steps of our T-shirts.
Today we explored it a bit of the city, a bustling town in the music is everywhere, some stairs to a church rose on the mountain, and this evening watching something going on here is at night.
morning we have then a short boat trip in a canyon in the program until we Puerto Francesco Ditto on the Pacific Coast cruise .. Surferort one where I do not trust the water will probably .. some of the highest waves in the world every September and surf competitions .. Let's see!
